Abstract:An attempt is made to define the legal attitude of South Africa towards Rhodesia. How do these two states react against the opprobium of the international community, what are their political, economic and diplomatic links and how do they face their respective futures? Is there a real Pretoria-Salisbury axis, and how could this situation be improved or changed? An attempt is also made to define the legal and diplomatic relationships of the two basic units of the system (South Africa and Rhodesia). They are called basic units because they are the decisively influential components of the whole system, their centres of decision being located in Africa and not overseas. Bibliogr., notes.
