Abstract:Study of the relations between the Gyaamanhene Kwadwo Adinkra and the Asantehene Osei Tutu Kwamena Asibey Bonsu during the period 1800-1818 when the Gyaamanhene was defeated in a war with the Asante (generally referred to as the Adinka war), which broke out in 1817-1818, and after which Asante tightened its control over Gyaaman by making it 'a province in lieu of the tributary rank it enjoyed before'.
