Abstract: | A consistent series of estimates of Gross National Product exists for Ethiopia only for the years 1961-69 and year-to-year changes in the macro-economic variables, gross, domestic expenditure, private consumption expenditure, investment, imports and exports are thus presented in a table. These data are used to examine the impact of export changes on the Ethiopian economy. The absence of data on prices rules out the possibility or investigating by relationship between export fluctuations and the domestic price level. Sections: The relationship between changes in export earnings and changes in private consumption expenditure - The relationships among changes in export earnings, changes in export and changes in gross domestic fixed capital formation - The relationship between changes in export, earnings and changes in government consumption expenditure - Conclusions.
