Abstract:What kind of influence has the devaluation of the CFA franc on 11 January 1994 had on the economy of the African States which belong to the 'franc zone'? In the opinion of experts, the devaluation constituted a technical step necessary in order to reestablish the competitiveness of the African economies in question.
