Abstract: | In 1958 Ohio University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education for Western Nigeria, coordinated a business education program from 1958 to 1967 in Ibadan. After that a follow-up study of the graduates was undertaken in order to learn of their current employment, educational, and salary status and to gain some indication of their attitudes toward their job situation. After giving some background information on business education in Nigeria the article presents the results of that survey, discussing i.a. the following questions: Do persons trained as business teachers actually teach business subjects? What are average salaries of Nigerian business subjects who do not have business teacher training? - Are business graduates satisfied with their job situation; - Do business graduates find employment? - Tables. |
