| Abstract: | Over the past twenty years a large amount of effort has been devoted to specifying and estimating econometric models for developed economies. It has been suggested by Lawrence R. Klein (1968) and Michael K. Evans (1970) that the model building techniques that have been applied to mature economies can and should be applied to developing countries. The authors take up the task suggested by Klein and Evans and present an econometric model of the Ghanaian economy. Sections: 1. Brief discussion of some of the problems in building an econometric model for a developing country, with particular reference to Ghana; 2. Discussion of the major sectors of the model; 3. Presents ex post forecasts, obtained through a Gauss-Seidel interaction technique, for the model's major variables. 4. Results summarized and some conclusions made.
