Abstract:This discussion is divided into three parts. In part 1 a brief review of the development within the international community of an awareness of the problems of land-locked States is made, placing in perspective the present world interest in these problems and the search for internationally accepted solutions. In part 2 some general considerations which go a long way to explain some of Lesotho's unique problems are raised. Part 3 focuses exclusively on Lesotho (Historical background and incorporation into the Union of South Africa; Political problems; Economic problems). Notes.
