| Abstract: | Deals with the possible advantages and problems involved in the creation of a central bank. After a brief outline of the present monetary and banking system of Liberia the more traditional functions that central banks discharge are considered and some of the more pertinent functions which central banks can perform with regard to the development process are analysed.
