| Abstract: | Farming systems research deals with the total cropping and food system in order to ascertain problems and bottlenecks in the overall system which limit agricultural growth. Aim is to formulate development plans for a particular area or region. This article shows that variations within regions may be sufficiently great that no generalizations can be made. This is done by a study of the farming system of two areas, Kilosa and Mgeta, lying within eighty kilometers of the city of Morogoro. Bibliogr., notes, tab. |
