Abstract:The aim of this study is to investigate some of the implications of seasonal labour inputs on the develppment of peasant agriculture, and special attention was given to those operations which appeared to limit timely planting and the expansion of crop acreage. The basic difficulty of the peasant farmer is his inability to supply enough labour at peak periods of the year. To improve this situation the author proposes the introduction and encouragement of new crops and of ox cultivation. Ref., notes, tables, map.
