Abstract: | Tree-crops compete with other farm activities for the available productive resources, especially capital. A realistic farm plan thus should fully integrate tree-crops with other farm enterprises if efficient resource use, highest net farm income or plans consistent with farmers' time horizons are to be attained. Main objective is to apply a model which integrates tree-crop enterprises with annual farm activities in the Ago-Owu tree-crop farm settlement. As a sequel to this objective, the authors identify and suggest practical solutions to some of the farm management problems facing the settlement. The model is based on yield and input data from records of the Ago-Owu tree-crop farm settlement. These data were supplemented, where necessary, with information from input-output records prepared by the FAO advisory team on the Farm Settlement Scheme. App., notes, sum. |
