Abstract: | General survey of evapotranspiration (a measure of the water demand of growing plants) and water supply (mostly rainfall). Two series of maps are presented: 1. to give an understanding of how the potential for growing different crops is distributed both in space and calendar time; 2. maps which express this potential in terms of probabilities, that is, the likelihood of rainfall exceeding evaporation 80 percent of the time in the long run. |
