| Abstract: | Since the war the goldmining industry has run into difficult times: rising costs were not matched by higher prices. Marginal mines were forced to close notwithstanding govt. subsidies. Now the Ghana government has become the owner of 5 out of the 7 working gold mines, the offer for the nationalization having been quite reasonables. |
