Abstract: | The post-independence governments of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda have adopted land policies that reflect aspirations toward some distinctive national goals. The land legislation in these countries ranges over the entire field of land tenure, public investment, and agricultural development strategy and the approaches are strikingly different. The article examines successively the politics of land in Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya. |
