Abstract: | In rural KwaZulu the majority of people depend on local open springs. Any consideration of improvement must raise questions concerning the people's dependence and utilisation of these unprotected sources of domestic water supply. These questions fall into three categories: - the identification of the water problems as perceived by the community; - the specific causes of expressed problems; - the appropriate means of ameliorating the undesirable conditions. |
