Abstract: | There is a risk of pollution in some form at each stage of petroleum operations, from the initial search for oil to the transport of petroleum products to the consumer. This article deals only with pollution within Nigeria, including the coastal waters and harbours but excluding pollution of the adjacent high seas resulting from tanker collisions or discharges.
