Abstract:These articles are mainly concerned with recent political changes in what might be called the central zone of Northern Africa - the zone, that is, including Tunisia, Tripolitania and the Fezzan, and stretching southward to Bornu and Kano. The reason for paying special attention to this central zone is primarily historical.
