Abstract: | It is generally accepted that the legal order is one of the major impediments against integrating African women in the development process. However when one studies this phenomenon one is confronted by the problem arising from the divergence between the law in the books and the law in action. This paper examines the position of women according to law and convention, in other words it discusses their legal as opposed to their social position in agriculture and employment, solely within the Ethiopian context. - Notes. tab. |
