| Abstract: | The paper provides recent statistics and general information on demography, employment, health, education, housing, economic development and local political structures. It focuses on the period 1970 to the present (1983) during which mass population relocation into QuaQua has taken place. It also looks briefly at some aspects of the processes of relocation people have undergone and shows how the various processes have influenced the ways in which different people experience conditions in QuaQua. There is a major dichotomy in QuaQua between Phuthaditjhaba, the only town, and the countryside. |
