Abstract:A description of the lives of 25 educated migrant young women in Accra. Suitable employment with a wage which can pay a rent, transport, food and other necessities is scarce or unobtainable. They are therefore constrained to find other strategies to cater for their needs. An important source of supplementary income is men friends. Meanwhile they maintain their single status. Their major life goals focus upon economic autonomy and security. Notes.
