Abstract: | The former treasurer of the Soweto Committee of Ten stresses the history and traditions of white South Africa and discusses political and economic inequality, apartheid's manifest injustices, and the role of business in South Africa. Western countries cannot go on backing a losing horse. Soon the stark reality of the changing alternatives for trade will hit them. They will have to choose between the short-term benefits of supporting the white regime and the long-term gains of taking action now that will enable them to retain the major markets of the country. |
