Abstract:Brigade training intends programmes of on-the-job training, including practical and theoretical technical instruction and academic teaching, the costs of which are covered by the earnings of the trainees themselves. Attention is drawn to the Farmer's Brigade, the capital cost of which is highest among the Brigade programmes, and to a finding of the most efficient ways of planning the training schemes Three conditions are thought to be essential to cover the recurrent costs: diversified settlement programmes, including farmers, builders, weavers, etc., availability of instructors, and a market for the products. Note, appendix.
