Abstract: | The author deals with the continuation or discontinuation of a worker by the employer. After having described the present position with the inherited English Common Law, and the main problems of security of employment, he discusses some specific areas of employment and to what extent, if any employees are protected under the various employers in East Africa. Much attention is paid to the Tanzania approach to this matter with the Employment Act, 1965. This Act provides for a Disciplinary Code whose provisions are applied by the Employer after consultation with the Workers' Committee. Notes. |
