| Abstract: | Purpose is to provide revised estimates of wood consumption requirements in Nigeria to 1985 and 2000, in the light of developments in the economy since 1970. The estimates relate to domestic consumption requirements only, consistent with the declared national policy for the forestry sector. Section I discusses the sources of data, assumptions and methodology of the study. Section II contains estimated requirements for the main wood products in Nigeria to 1985 and 2000. Section III discusses the results of the estimates and their policy implications. Section IV: summary and conclusions. Ref., notes, tables, appendices. |
