Abstract:Summary of the results of some soundspectrography studies carried out at the Summer Institute of Linguistics (Linguistic Society of America) at UCLA, summer 1966. The inconclusive nature of the results, especially on vowel qualities, indicate that phonetic studies in Amharic are in their infancy. 1.
