Abstract:The Nharo are a Khoe- (or 'Hottentot') speaking people who live in the western Ghanzi district of Botswana, in the central-western Kalahari. This article presents a descriptive and comparative overview of Nharo medicine, especially of the central Nharo. Sections: medicine and medicine men - physical medicine - spriritual medicine - the place of medicine men in the society and explanations of Bushman medicine. Notes, ref., résumé.
