Abstract: | Small holder irrigation systems have been disigned and operated in Zimbabwe for the last half century. The disigns, however, have not been well defined with the result that the present operational criteria for most of the schemes bear no relationship to the original design. This paper reviews some of the major problems of design and the attempts that are being made to streamline the designs in order for them suit the beneficiaries of the scheme. Ref., sum. |
