Abstract: | Supplements the A.'s previous article 'Aufnahme und Erforschung der Hofmusik in Uganda' (Bull. Int. Comm. Urgent Anthr. & Ethn. Res., 1967, 9, p. 19-22). The present paper summarizes what the author has been able to record of xylophone music. Transcriptions are presented of musical pieces that had been played within the enclosure of the Babaka's court: 1. Amadinda transcriptions - 2. Akadinda transcriptions. Indicated are the notations of the twelve-keyed amadinda and of the seventeen-keyed akadinda (both transposed to C). |
