Abstract:Since imported product are generally prohibitively expensive for the majority of people, a qualitative and quantitative improvement should be made in traditional product through simple and rational techniques. In order to do this, establishments should be set up in Benin, providing refresher courses for craftsmen, initially, and eventually training adolescents who have not had the chance to go to school. This should be complemented by literacy-training in order to produce workers who, though their qualifications may be modest, will have a solid training which will make their work efficient. The purpose of these establishments - 'Adult Vocational Training Centres' (CFPA) - would be to train workers who could use the resources rationally to create modern and finished products. Reference is made to: CFPA for building - A CFPA for exotic fibres - A CFPA for textile handicrafts - A CFPA for animal husbandry. Chart, fig.
