Abstract: | The Bayudaya belonged to the Ghana in the former Uganda kingdom. The founder of the community is Semei Kakungulu. In 1962 they numbered approximately 500. After this demographic introduction the sections are: the historical and social background of the Bayudaya community - Semei Kakungulu, founder of the community - Semei Kakungulu's path to Judaism - organization of the community - the Bayudaya's observance of the Jewish laws and customs - the present position of the community.
