Abstract:The purpose of this article is to focus attention on a neglected aspect of the theory of common markets - the analysis of the territorial distribution of benefits and costs in a common market. An attempt is made in the earlier sections to develop a theoretical framework to analyze the distribunal effects of a common market; the rest of the article applies the results of the analysis to the East African Common Market (E.A.C.M.).
