Abstract:Profile of current Africanists in Britain which is aimed at providing some indication of what the future provision of Africanists will be. The data show the difficulties of reproducing new generations of Africanists. It is clear that the supply of Africanists must be artificially generated to some extent unless British policymakers are content to see the virtual demise of the study and teaching of Africa. Ref.
