| Abstract: | The psychological warfare against President Kaunda and his administration by South Africa, Portugal and Rhodesia takes two forms: officially by the white supremacy regimes in their radio and other propaganda, and unofficially by their white sympathisers who spread false rumours designed to foster tribal conflicts, to undermine the confidence of Zambians in their own policies and abilities, and to arouse fear among Zambia's whites that President Kaunda's non-racial policy is doomed to failure. White propaganda and rumour mongering is analysed and Zambian perceptions of these activities are evaluated through a description of the activities of Radio South Africa, the Rhodesian radio, Radio Zambia, the Times of Zambia, the Zambia Daily Mail. |
