| Abstract: | In 1967, a year after Lesotho was granted political independence. a Central Planning and Development Office (CPDO) was established. From the start, the interrelated tasks of preparing the capital budget and formulation of project memoranda have been the principal on-going tasks of Lesotho's planners. In the first part of the present article, these two tasks are observed for the period of one financial year 1975-76. Another major responsibility has been the preparation of medium-term plans. In Part 2 the preparation of Lesotho's second five-year plan is discussed. App., notes, tab. |
