Abstract: | The world-wide tables which are reproduced here from the latest, seventh edition of the Atlas are meant to be used with caution. Some points to watch: Per capita GNP; Measuring GNP; Factor cost versus market price; Conversion at official exchange rate; Centrally planned economies. Tables reproduced: Population (mid 1970) and average annual growth rates (1960-70), countries with population of a million or more, inter alia Nigeria, Arab Rep. of Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa (incl. Namibia), Zaire, Sudan, Morocco, Algeria, Tanzania (mainland), Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Mozambique, Malagasy Rep., Cameroon, Angola, Upper Volta, Rhodesia, Tunesia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Malawi, Zambia, Niger, Guinea, Senegal, Chad, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Dahomey, Sierra Leone, Togo, Libya, Central African Rep., Liberia, Mauritania. - Gross National Product per capita at market prices (1970) and average annual growth rate (1960-70), countries with populations of a million or more: inter alia the same 37 countries as in the other table. |
