Abstract:	The article deals with abortion and contraception among the Nzema of Ghana. The practice - as in the case of abortion so in contraception's - is mainly based on local plants powers exploitation; technical solutions have been examined. As for the sociopsychological background, mythical beliefs causing legitimate motivations to abort - such as in case of incestuous relationship or in case of pregnancy in spite of tribal taboos - have been gradually substituted by socio-economic motivations due to acculturation.
