Abstract: | In spite of the majority of the Ganda people being affiliated to Christianity or Islam, still in moments of crisis people are comforted by lapsing into practices of Ganda traditional belief. It is only after the arrival of Islam and Christianity that the Baganda strated recording their traditions in writing. Before this, much of their history was enshrined in oral traditions. The need for redemption can be traced in legends, myths and proverbs. Studied here are some aspects of redemption in Ganda traditional religion to see what the nature of this redemption is and what the agents of this redemption are. Notes. |
