| Abstract: | The concept of God among the Urhobo bears kinship to the concepts of God among neighbouring ethnic groups: the Isoko, the Bini, the Ishan and others, all of whom speak the Edo group of languages. There are nevertheless characteristics in the concepts of God which are distinctively Urhobo, and which therefore justify one speaking of the Urhobo concept of God. The Urhobo concept of God is shown here to the discernible in: Names and attributes of God - Stories and folklore - Proverbs, prayers and worship. Notes. |
