| Abstract: | To protect himself against the eventual bankruptcy of a debtor, a creditor may require that the obligation becomes one in solidum, that it should bind more persons jointly and severally. In such a case, what are the remedies, if any, available to a creditor for the recovery of his credit? The present author addresses this question, and in the process gives an outline of the law relating to bankruptcy, identifies the various sources of that law as incorporated in the Ethiopian Commercial Code of 1960, and enumerates various steps that a creditor may have as against some or all joint debtors.
