Abstract:In most of the English-speaking countries of Africa there exist a great variety of statutory corporations to facilitate economic development with many specific purposes, such as agricultural development, construction of housing, and promotion of tourism. This study is concerned with ten laws establishing this sort of corporations. In general, all these laws provide for the establishment of the corporation-its purpose, functions, administrative procedures, responsibilities, and funding.
