Abstract: | The objective of this paper is to deduce some implications for market development for food, with particular reference to Nigeria. First, Nigeria's food problem is considered; then, the nature of Nigeria's food market is discussed. On the basis of this, some theoretical issues are raised by placing Nigeria's food market on a development continuum and by considering some market typologies. This is then used to generate some policy measures to stimulate food market development in Nigeria. - Notes. |
