Abstract: | Ancient Sumer, modern Lower Mesopotamia, flourished in the third millenium B.C. It appears to be the first major high-culture of western Asia. Elam, the first high-culture of Iran, shared Sumer's eastern border. This paper examines the different bonds of the Sumerians and the Elamites with the Nile Valley. Notes. |
