Abstract:Except, perhaps, in Australia up to the first quarter of this century, it is doubtful whether any other country in the English-speaking world has had as many tribunals of inquiry presided over by judges of the superior courts as Nigeria has had during the last 15 years. The military administration started the practice and the new civilian administration is perpetuating it. The author, Chief Justice of Nigeria, agrees that he practice should continue, subject to a number of safeguards. Commentaries (p. 24-33), general report of panel discussion (p. 34-35), resolutions (p. 36-37). Notes.
