Abstract:The author outlines the present, relatively modest levels of co-operation, emphasizing their diversity and pointing to future potentiels. Deliberate structural adjustments are required on both sides to realize the East-South interregional potential, with more concerted regional co-operation in the regions of Africa and closer co-ordination of the national development plans of the European socialist countries within the framework of their own CMEA (Council for Mutual Economic Assistance).
