Abstract:The conclusion is that since the Gorsuch report (Gorauch Report on the Public Services of the Governments of the Federation of Nigeria, 1954-55, Government Printer, Lagos), there has not been a proper and comprehensive review of the civil service. The recommendation of the Adebo Commission and its acceptance by the governments of the Federation, that a Public Service Review Commission be set up, is warmly welcomed. As there seems to be an urgent necessity for a comprehensive reform of the Nigerian civil services, the question is when such a body will be set up. Ref.
