Abstract:The opinion that makes morality the product of either common sense or human society has been so well discussed and dismissed by a number of competent scholars that it appears that majority view on the subject traces the sources of morality to supernature with particular focus on the Supreme Being, ancestors and divinities who constitute the supernatural triad. Some components of the ethics of the Bini in Nigeria include avoidance of theft, falsehood, selfishness, hypocrisy, murder, witchcraft and practice of kindness, justice, truth, generosity, hospitality and chastity. In the present discussion the topic has been telescoped to tackle as much as possible the issue of sex interdictions. Successively are discussed: premarital sex morality; extramarital sex relations; incest prohibitions; copulation in time and place. - Diagr., notes.
