Abstract:One of the objectives of School Health Education is to provide sufficient and accurate information about matters concerning health and disease. This study aims at determining the amount of information as well as misinformation possessed by high school pupils regarding certain familiar diseases. The data were acquired through two questionnaires each comprising twelve diseases but with seven diseases common to both and five diseases specific to each. This first report (Part 1) presents results regarding the seven diseases common to both questionnaires. Another report (Part 2) will present the results regarding the other ten diseases. Ref., tab.
