Abstract: | The Zande, who live in south Sudan, believe that death is due either to witchcraft or sorcery and therefore it is for family and kin honour that the death should be avenged. The author who thinks that his book on Zande witchcraft beliefs and practices needs completion, publishes in this article some texts on vengeance in vernacular and translation. Summary. (The article refers to: Evans-Pritchard 'Witchcraft, oracles and magic among the Azande', Oxford, 1937). |
