Abstract: | Education in Tanzania has been expanding according to predetermined plans. This is especially true of higher education. The question is whether broadening occupational opportunities has changed students' patterns of occupational choices. Analysed are three questions: 1. What was the pattern of career choices of University Education students at Form 6? 2. What has been their pattern choices since Form 4 and what careers they intend to ultimately join? 3. Given an opportunity to quit teaching what is the behaviour of University Education students and whet are the characteristics of those quiting?
