Abstract: | This article, reproduced here, was originally written in August, 1926. The writer, William Scott (1859-1928), came from Scotland, where he graduated in Medecine in 1882, to Nyasaland in 1883 and joined there the Medical Missionary Service. In 1885 Dr. Scott and his family went back to Scotland. His reminiscences to his work and life in Central Africa, as presented in this article, give a fascinating insight into the attitudes of missionaries working in pre-Protectorate days in Nyasaland. - Note. |
